Followed by dairy queen.

I wasn't tracking this week and I am confident the results will show when I weigh in tomorrow. They showed last week and I didn't record my weight. But denial is not just a river in Egypt, and I'll be entering tomorrow's number no matter what, and be tracking despite the wedding.

I did walk a lot this weekend, in the rain, which I think should burn more calories than normal walking. I also went for a rather humbling run yesterday. I'm biding my time hoping that the gym near my house will have a "no joining fee" sale, but if they don't by 10/01 I'm just going to join and pay. The body needs it--with fall in the air I can feel my fat cells just holding on for dear life. My bike needs fixing which is something else that would help shake the fat cells loose if I wasn't too damn lazy to walk my bike to the repair shop. Talk about your self-fulfilling prophecies.

How many bad days make a bad week? Let's hope it's 4, and that tomorrow is actually good, and therefore this week is redeemed.

Here's a picture from a better day than the last few have been:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mgCiFju4-4g/SNHiMHKw6eI/AAAAAAAAAJU/bfsT_RtBOMU/s320/IMG_1111.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5247223738573842914" />Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-32364514045416823592007-05-12T13:46:00.000-05:002007-05-12T13:48:26.200-05:00I finished plan! I did well. I'm having a wonderful time being in sunny vermont with no work to do. I've gone swimming in the river behind my house, taken lovely walks, etc.

I just sent my resume to like 20 administrative assistant jobs. Even the ones that say to have experience, because like, what the hell, I'm smart.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-71968103896515879072007-05-01T19:40:00.000-05:002007-05-01T19:44:44.316-05:00

Today's dinosaur comics is RAD!!! Please click the picture to be able to read it. I love futurism and the way T-Rex describes it in the first panel is exactly the way I try to explain it to people, when I do.

I'M ALMOST DONE WITH COLLEGE GUYS!Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-65804775431573974082007-04-11T18:33:00.000-05:002007-04-11T18:40:54.006-05:00Hi!
I am almost done with one of my Plan papers. I'm on page 18 (of 20). I'm thrilled with this. I'm "mailing" (the day I send my papers to my outside examiner, meaning the day I can't/won't write anymore) on the 26th. I still don't know who my outside examiner will be, but whoever it is will be great, I'm sure.

I'm happy with the way my pictures are coming out, and I'm super-excited for my gallery show, which I am sharing with two REALLY cool people, and it's going to be AMAZING.

I am NOT HAPPY with reports that we'll be getting AT LEAST a foot of snow tomorrow. It is literally the middle of April. The time for snow to be still on the ground has past. Snow falling from the sky is beyond unacceptable. A FOOT? I'm going to have a heart attack. I can't STAND this never-ending winter thing. It is HORRIBLE.

ALSO HORRIBLE: I did not get even an interview for the Rome Center. Wow. I cried a little bit now I'm mostly just excited about planning for grad school and the whole fabulous rest of my life.

But I have some amazing people in my life supporting me right now, and I know I'm going to get it done and be able to lay out in the sun all day, drinking beer and wearing dresses. I'm looking forward to the beer-and-dresses part of all of this.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-63799938634942823372007-04-06T12:08:00.000-05:002007-04-06T12:09:11.215-05:00It did snow, it snowed A LOT and it's not exactly melting. It is throwing me off in a big way.

I'm starting to freak out a little, but only a little.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-27565729873280877552007-04-04T14:53:00.000-05:002007-04-04T14:56:20.467-05:00City Life: Photographs of the Urban EnvironmentDrury Gallery--Marlboro College, Marlboro VT
May 4-8 2007
Opening reception May 4th, 2007 at 6 pm
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mgCiFju4-4g/RhQCrk20TkI/AAAAAAAAAAo/gHu4MRBIXWc/s320/chicago+theater.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049664029840395842" />

It might snow a foot tonight, but the this is a sure sign of spring!!Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-61809830604581375332007-04-02T19:08:00.001-05:002007-04-02T19:08:59.993-05:00the students all came back and brought the wind and rain and fog with them. Last week's quiet and clear blue skies feel almost like a dream.
Opening day and Easter mean it's springtime. I am going to graduate and it is going to be amazing. I feel amazing--strong and ready.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-40356024318151819492007-03-31T18:19:00.000-05:002007-03-31T18:21:03.045-05:00I loooove empty marlboro, and I really wish that everyone wasn't coming back tomorrow. I just really like having the place to myself, with only a choice few around to play ping pong with or throw rocks into the firepond with. Ping pong and firepond rocking throwing are best enjoyed in relative quiet.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-57361775379624709502007-03-29T11:48:00.000-05:002007-03-29T11:53:55.203-05:00Ok, I have been so negligent, and I'm sorry.
here's what I've been doing:
1. I went home and celebrated St. Patrick's day and saw the florida branch of the family, and it was great. We marched in the parade with the plumbers union.
2. I went to Milwaukee on the train and saw Rachel, Jenny, and Lydia, and went to the best bar in the world and the art museum.
3. I went to New York City with Evan and Helena and saw the city, a musical (Spring Awakening) and Moby (in line for Spring Awakening), and MoMA (I take back my Jeff Wall-bashing, the show was wonderful). Oh and part of the Robert Moses exhibit. AND a woman with a cat in a backpack trying to pick a fight with a dog owner in central park. AND Italian people talking about Super Mario Bros.
4. Oh! I forgot about the part where I saw Lily in Chicago and we went to a lecture by Vik Muniz and it was AMAZING!
5. E & H and I went back to Boston and went to another of the world's great bars, and rocked out to live music played by people I know. We rocked OUT.
6. Now I'm back at school trying to work but being more interested in the cloudless sky.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-89580027610474710342007-03-11T11:27:00.000-05:002007-03-11T11:30:09.115-05:00This is a list of bad ideas.

1. Not turning off a cell phone, even when you think it can't possibly ring. This is a guarantee that it will ring and cause strife.
2. Parking a car on an inclined sheet of ice. This will guarantee that your car will be immobilized. Again, strife.
3. Modernist planning. No one wants to live in a concept.

Let us all take a lesson from this.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-79671745936702719682007-03-07T19:13:00.000-06:002007-03-07T19:18:20.620-06:00I just got the kindest note from the person who would be my ideal outside examiner. Not only was it a very kind reply to my email, but it was a kind reply indicating that he might very well be able to do it, the fact that we'd be paying him peanuts be damned!! I am so thrilled and very flattered and a little star struck, frankly. I love his writing and I draw on his work quite a lot in my Plan (although not as much as I originally thought I would be, but still). He has friends that went to Marlboro and admires the Plan system. How cool!! I'm sure if he didn't know the school there would be like no chance of his interest.

This is a very good sign!! I had sort of a breakthrough in my photo paper today, and I had a total breakthrough in my photographs last week, and the new Arcade Fire album is out, and generally things are looking up. Woo hoo!!!Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-36305019560681070352007-02-28T18:30:00.000-06:002007-02-28T18:34:32.384-06:001. I am single, for the first time in a year and a half, my first serious relationship was wonderful and now it is over.
2. I am doing my Plan.
3. I am living in the middle of nowhere, VT
4. I am graduating and have no concrete plans except for moving out of 623 N. by September 1st, with vague overtones of a Masters in Urban Planning.

And yet, I am wonderfully content. I have everything I need right now in the form of Helena and Evan, my Plan, my iPod, and myself. So what if my grip on sanity is as tenuous as they come, I am totally ok with that.Maggiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07151754072368642830noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31674817.post-59994379067501593102007-02-26T19:26:00.001-06:002007-02-26T19:26:34.663-06:0016: Stapler.flickr-photo { border: solid 2px #000000;
