I am! It scares me a little but it would be sooo nice to have a solid answer to the "what are you doing next year?" question and this idea has been percolating for a while. So I'm doing it! It's perfect! It's service (but with a salary), it's me putting my money where my liberal mouth is, it's Chicago, it's everything. It's a little scary but things that aren't, are boring. So yes.

I'm applying too! Which reminds me, I have to get on that... Teach for America rejected my ass, and I really, really, desperately want to come home to Chicago. Wouldn't it be amazing if we both got it? We could live together...althgouh I seem to recall that in Rome you said you could never live with me. Oh well, it was a nice thought. Oh, and FYI: I BOMBED the math section of the GRE and (humiliatingly) the writing section. In my arrogance, I who have not taken a math class since first semester freshman year did not prepare, nor did I get more than a few hours of sleep. Despite my good verbal score, it lloks like good-bye grad school (at least to any place worth going).
